TOTAL VIEW: OTHER FEATURES
Total View includes a number of useful and innovative features that make it an even better user experience.
News
Enter news items that users will see when logging in. News items can have text and images, and have embargo and expiry dates to make sure news is relevant and timely. Some news items may be set as "recordable", keeping a record of every user that has viewed the item and alerting users that they have not yet read a high priority news item.
RSS
Total View makes use of "Really Simple Syndication" to notify users of activities of interest to them without having to log in. RSS is generally used for news feeds, but Total View has adapted this technology to provide a secure method of alerting users to such actions a: other users viewing one of their clients; new tasks being assigned to you or your team; news item; or requests for or arrival of paper files.
Recent
To make it easy for users to access records they have recently viewed, each user has a "Recent" menu from which they can link directly to their recently viewed clients, organisations, documents, genograms and ecomaps.
Admin Managed Online Help
Local terminology and ways of working often make delivered help text less than useful. So Total View lets system administrators edit all online help within the application as well as adding context sensitive links to download documents or run video or sound clips to assist users.
Accessibility Options
Total View can be set, for specific users, to operate in accessibility mode. This makes slight alterations to areas such as menu text and the tab order in order to make Total View operate more effectively with accessibility tools such as Dolphin’s SuperNova.
In addition, the system administrator can set up any number of styles to alter the appearance of Total View to better suits certain disabilities. For example, making backgrounds less bright and increasing the contrast with text. Each user can be designated as using a specific style, which is then used automatically when they log in.
