| Ability Equipment System - AES |
AES is a combined ordering, asset stock control and service/maintenance system designed to manage the whole process of running an community equipment loan service.
The management and effective use of ability equipment is a critical aspect of life-long care, not just in the provision of the service to the clients but in making cost effective use of all the resources, tracking assets and ensuring prompt and appropriate maintenance and repair when needed.
An essential element is the ease of use of the system, in checking availability, booking and delivery so that Occupational Therapists and other carers are encouraged to take maximum advantage of the facilities and equipment available to benefit their clients.
To ease user acceptance, the Fibonacci solution makes use of both the latest Internet technology and mobile devices.
AES works with Fibonacci's Ability Equipment Catalogue (AEC or AECr) so that practitioners can work with clients in their homes to select and order the most appropriate equipment.
AES was developed in partnership with the Scottish Borders Council and NHS Borders. Click on the image to see a video about the Borders project.
